A Run Down!
What a load on my feet! Literally! I went to the gym tonight to run on the tread and they were all taken, plus a few "out of orders" stand posted on some. THIS lead me to attempt another heavy workout by climbing the stairmaster. Just another workout, right? UH, well, after 5 minutes, and the fact that I haven't been on one of those contraptions in a few years, it felt like the weight of bricks draggin on my feet! I had no idea that I was out of "walking the stairs" shape. God bless those workers who climb stairs everyday, but I really did miss my standard 2 mile tread-run... always trying to beat my last "running" record. pant pant.
Also, I guilt tripped Scott to join my workout - heh heh!

A Magical Illustration!
I shared the high school play called "South Pacific" with this guy, Tony, to later find out he became quite a well know magician in California! He changed his name (name used to be Jack) and I stumbled across him in one of Scott's magic magazines and said "I know this guy, but Tony is not his name!" Since Scott knew him, he called him up to ask if he ever did a play, lived in the Coal region of PA, yadayadayada.... and Tony was quite surprised to hear that I was Scott's significant other (he shared magic conventions with Scott beforehand). It's a small world!
Anyway, I promised to do a cartoon for him (Tony) and never found the time, until now...I MADE the time!

A Terrifying Journey!
I envy Beth, for she is an excellent writer (so is my hubby-envy him too). I posted ONE of her funny short stories, (click on pic to read it) that I illustrated back in 2000. I'm trying to talk her into writing short stories for a book and later publishing it! MAYBE I can twist her arm a bit, but I will be busy writing my own idea, come January! Of course, I'd make the time, if she were willing!!!!
In our crazy high school days, she would help me with my composition and I would help her with her math. Funny how that worked out well for us.
In composition class, we had to write a story on "How to...." Beth wrote about
"How to become a vampire." The amazing part is I watched her read every vampire book and see every vampire movie out at the time, so she knew that dark side very well! Well...she did try to get me to watch every late night vampire movie, when she'd stay over my house. Sometimes, I snoozed and she would yel at me for it! LOL!
After handed in our story, our teacher wanted to speak to Beth after class and said he could not grade it, until she gave him all her resources. The teacher could not believe she wrote it herself, for it was too good. HA! but I KNEW she did!
Next day she brought all her resource in and she got that well deserved "A!"
YOU GO GIRL!
What a smartee pants you are BB! tee hee

"Kroaking" Nite with friends!
What a night of karaoke at the friendliest bar around! Cindy's Rusty Nail in Palmerton, Pa! Bob and Cindy run and own the bar/restaurant. THIS is the place to be on Friday and Sat night to sing your lil heart out. If you can't sing, just watch and enjoy the show with the friendly gang around you! This place clings on to you like a disposable fragrant sheet in your dryer! :)
On Friday, I finally pushed myself out to see Craig and Tammi, the KJ's I've known for a long time and started my singing career. ha ha
Sorry guys, for hurting your ears back in those days of my embarressing off-key attempts to so many of your tunes.
BUT....TODAY...with 10 yrs of practice under my belt, along with 3 years of classical training, (not to mention a few months singing with a band, too) my voice has really come along way. And I owe much of this to Craig and Tammy, who helped me during my virgin karaoke years! hee hee - Thank you guys!
Also, while singing and chatting, I found time to doodle at the bar! There will be more nights of this! What a night and with GREAT people!
You guys are the best!

DIET - Who's willing to do it the right way today?
Back in March, when I weighed myself, I decided it's time to shed some pounds off to help me feel better about myself. Imagine?....actually going on a diet that's healthy for you?
Whenever you see someone losing weight drastically, whether it's Weight Watchers, Beach diets, etc., you are quite tempted to try these marketable diets, for you have that need for fast results.
Not me, not today! I was in NO hurry and wanted to do it the right way! And yes, I was naive enough to try the suicide diets in my youth, and knew they only worked for a short time. In the long run, your body is paying for it and your body is very important! You have to live with it!
I lost 13 pounds in about 3-4 months and it is 8 months today and I only gained 3 pounds back.
Are you ready for my diet plan?
I ate like I usually do everyday, the only change was to eliminated SOME candy and placed it with veggies and fruit, drink water instead of sodas(which I usually do not drink sodas anyway) CUT back by NOT eating that LAST munchie-of-the-night snack (this is the biggie and difficult to start, but becomes easier) and, GET THIS.... exercise 2-3 hours a week!
I guess the hardest part about this diet is "discipline." When you have a goal and want that goal, you just begin and take your time. Are you in a hurry? Ask yourself why?
Think of your body as a plant; if you do not water it, it dies, when you finally give it plenty of water, it grows strong and then dies again. Can you imagine your body being treated the same with food?
TAKE YOUR TIME!!
This is the same with EVERYTHING in my life...ART, SINGING, DANCING, you name it!
Take your TIME, learn about yourself and practice, discipline yourself, great things will HAPPEN! Wait and you will see your results!
Try not to get discouraged by the negative obstacles falling in your path. It happens, just focus and get back on track!
Oh, yeah...diet?....eat as many carrots as you want in a day! You will find youself eating more than you'd like during the start of your diet, but it gets easier and less carrots!
Come ON! You CAN do it!!!

TOTALLY "AWE" SOME!!!! Cari-Creature!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, love, LOVE this caricature (or should I say cari-creature?) of Scott, done by an Australian friend of ours, Anthony!
This, by far, is one of the best!!
His style on scott is similar to a Ren and Stimpy style, but I have to say Anthony MADE it his OWN! Hats off to you!!!
I told Scott if he continues to drink too much caffeine, he will look like this someday!
Scott loves it too!

Philly Nite out with BF of 30 yrs!
It's been a long time for a night out, full of laughter and dancing with my best friend, Beth, of 30 years. WE started at Continental for great food, then hung out at Sassafras, before going to Club 27 to take over the dance floors(we LOVE dancing)! At the Sass, we crashed in their "Artzy" tub (photo of me in it), which is only in their lady's restroom. We plan to have more get-togethers like this one! :D
