Private House Party

This family party I appeared at yesterday, were extremely nice people and gathered all around me, (within their tight family room), to watch me draw the kids, and later the adults. The guy above was the husband and his wife, who hired me, said she was surprised her husband even wanted a caricature done!

Philly Art Friends!

Here is a photo taken of my Philly Artist friends, with me, at one of my annual house parties in 2003!
Emily, Pat, Me & Miriam! I felt a need to create a fast sketchy cartoon of us, from this photo, in Painter!

Another Happy Client!

This client said "Terrific!" and only asked me to replace the sock with a specific hat(client requested sock first) and change beer mugs to souvenir cups!

More costumes!

I made a "Cats" costume for me and Beth helped me with makeup again (like I said, she's a pro with that)and my photographer (back in 80's) took a photo of me standing on a piano bench! How cool!
Other photo is me with my good friend Mary, (a friend I shared performing triathlons together-I miss you Mary!). This was taken years later from my cat photo, but Mary wore my cat costume and I wore my homemade Cavewoman outfit and won first prize with that outfit! My brother helped make a club by chainsawing a log and I rubbed shoe polish on it, but I don't have club in this photo! Bummer!

Happy Howling Halloween!

In my younger days, my best friend, Beth and I were highly creative with our Halloween costumes (also bored! ha ha) I thought I'd post a few that we spent time creating. Here is one of me as Frank-n-Furter in Rocky Horror. Beth did my make-up! She was so great at this, plus she lives in the city and is always in the latest fashion! I always thought she should be a make-up artists or fashion artist!
I will have dig into my photo album to find a photo of Beth as "Magenta." During our college years at Kutztown Univ., we attended a Rocky Horror picture show, in our costumes, at a crowded auditorium at Millersville University and received a standing ovation! The funniest part of that evening is when we performed on stage, Beth sang her tune and leaned against the hanging screen (she thought the screen was immobile and acted the same leaning-on-post scene that Magenta did in movie) and the screen started to sway big time! Next thing you know, the film was turned off and we were chased off stage to our seats! We can laugh today about that one! What fun that was!!!

KYW News Anchorman!

I just finished up a rush Gift order for KYW News man, Vince! I had fun doing this one and I'm trying to be more creative with the "one" photo or photos that clients are giving me and designing better layouts! Now, back to my Cintiq drawing board to move onto other tight orders!

What a Creation!!

Wow! What a photo and this handsome young man happens to be my son!! Hard to believe how much he's grown.
This happens to be one of the best photos I have seen of my son, by far! I love the way the colors of light hit his face!
What can I say, but....I'm a very proud mother!

SEO News Update!

I can't believe it, but I received a call from PSATS, this week, saying they did not know what to do with me. I said, "Er..come back again?" Apparently, I passed my probe hole soil descriptions test with very high scores, but on the written test, I missed the last 11 questions on test. Yikes! I thought there were only 26 questions and I did answer them al, but there were 37! Psats assumed that possibly my page might have been stuck together (probably with soil- ha ha) Gee, how did I miss more shitty questions? yuck yuck!
Anyway, the conclusion is I have to report at PSATS in Harrisburg, at my own convenient time, to re-take the written exam over again.
Heck....NO problem with THAT at all!!! Must wait again! Shucks!

It's Our Anniversary!!

Today is our 2 year Anniversary! Scott and I have been together for 9 years and I wouldn't trade him for anyone else in the world!

Worked for Ralph Lauren last night!

I drew caricatures for Ralph Lauren last night at a city Mall. (thanks Sarah!) I was a bit concerned, because the customers had to buy Ralph Lauren in order to get a "free" caricature and we all know how expensive RL can be, right? (but it's a great product and worth it, of course) The event started slow, but rumor came around that I can draw from photos and next thing you know, I was busy drawing many kids from photos, newspaper clippings and someone even tried to get me to draw a baby sleeping from a cell phone shot(no thanks, I'll pass!) And customers actually bought RL to have photos drawn!!
Here are 2 I shot with camera last night, but it's hard to see the newspaper clipping of the boy I drew on left side, but I really wanted to work on cartooning my bodies much more and did. I was very excited with this one and so was my RL customer! The little girl (on right) was so adorable and posed for me without a problem. She was so thrilled, that I HAD to take a photo of her parading around with the drawing. Later on, I cartooned a pet dog from a B&W copy and I'm hoping this person will send me the photo soon for posting,(since I didn't take a photo - forgot) but I recieved her email this morning saying....

"Hi Angie,

My name is Nicole and I am the department manager of the Infant's Department in Boscov's. You were at our store October 17th for the Ralph Lauren event, and I have to tell you, it was awesome having you there. Your work is absolutely amazing! You drew my Old English Sheepdog, Dudley, and my family has not stopped talking about how wonderful it is!! Thank you so much for doing the event with Ralph Lauren Childrenswear, I will definitely be telling everyone about your Pet-Toons website!!

Thanks again,

Nicole & Dudley too!!"

The manager of Boscov's wants to bring me back! Giddy-Up! :)

JT and me!

It's hard to get a photo with my son,JT, but I FINALLY grabbed him in a pose with me last night, and Scott had a chance to use the the New Flash I bought him for his high-tech camera!

Bar Mitzvah Live Weekend Work!

Quite a busy weekend for me and I only took my camera to one event, but had the pleasures of working with Debbie Schafer at the one! She is so much fun to work aside and so talented and strikingly beautiful! Here are 2 from that evening!
The girl with gorgeous gown was the sis of the Bar-Mitzvah boy,Ari, so I was instructed, by parents, to hand her a color drawing.

Scribbles and me!!!

Here is my "pal Pag" or should I say "Pag pal" on the last night at NCN Convention.
Pag hung out with me and we had some good laughs and tried to stay awake with many trips to Starbucks!

Shits & Giggles!

Besides doodling cartoons, I am a licensed SEO! What is an SEO? Most people would respond to me with "You do what that Ed Norton guy does on Honeymooners, right?" ha ha
SEO stands for Sewage Enforcement Officer. Sounds important, huh? Well we are the guys who can lay out a septic system for your purchased lot or help you with a new crap system, if your old one blows - heh heh.
Hy husband calls me "Shits & Giggles," since I draw cartoons and I have my hands on crap, sorta speak!
Last week, after I returned home, from Florida, (at midnight), I had to show up for an Advanced Soil Class bright and early the next day for a 2 day Soil class and testing in West Chester (near Philly). The 2 days consist of classroom book studies, feeling and describing soil (DIRT! - oops I said the nasty word!) and jumping in probe holes, in fields, to read the horizons in soil!
Yeah, I know you are all jealous of me, cuz I know my shit- bwahahah. The class was very hard and I'm crossing my soily fingers that I passed my test. I won't know for a few weeks!
I had so much fun reuniting with my SEO friends Paul, Frank and Kelly!! They keep me laughing and make the class worth attending! Plus, I have fun doodling the Soil Scientist instructors! :)
Good luck to you guys on passing test, too!!!

Jan Cintiqing me!

Here is Jan using my Cintiq to draw me at the NCN convention.
Love it Jan!

"Plane" Art!

I love the show "House" and always wanted to draw Dr House, but never seemed to find the time with my very busy schedule. On my flight home to PA, from Florida, (after staying for a cruise and vacation from Con) I started to doodle him out on my Pad! Here are my results! :)

Cintiq Art by 2 great Artists!

At the NCN convention, I had the honors of artist's Jan Op De Beeck and Lar deSouza
sketch me on my Cintiq tablet!
I really love them! Thank you!!!
Jan, I wish I could have looked over your shoulder on this one! :)

Also, Lar had taught me a few lessons with coloring in Photoshop! Great lessons Lar and I will definitely fly with what you taught me, in that short amount of time!
Thanks again!

NCN of 2006

Here are some projects I created on my Cintiq Tablet at the Florida Caricature Convention. I did NOT like the way I did Marlos' red hair, but I was running out of competition time and decided to work on other projects I found to have more personality and creativeness! Plus the colors did not match, when printed. Pretty drab looking, huh?... Oh well!
I could have made Court's 5 o'clock shadow with an opacity solid grey, instead of the smudgy stippling.
My take on Tad, from using Painter, (a program I am still trying to learn and acomplish) was a different approach and I really like it!
Paul Gaunt loved my creative piece on him and he even explained as to why, in detail. People like Paul, who show much repect and appreciation for your hard work, are the ones who score high in my book, and I will remember this forever! Thanks Paul! You're the man!!!
My composite is the one I worked on most, and I feel I should have separated everyone as a B&W piece, because I feel ALL that time and energy got lost with many judging eyes on competition day. You learn from all your mistakes. Better luck next time and BACK to the drawing board! ha ha
I had so much fun and this was my BEST convention, so far!!!

WOW! I had so much ENERGY & FUN at the NCN CON this year, and once again, learned SOOO much and met many new artist friends!! Speaking of friends, here are some crazy imac photos with me and others, including Roger and Eric!!
I am STILL in Florida, as I am writing blog, but will return to much caricature work waiting at home for me to attack!
Can't wait to draw, draw, draw and work on my future project!!!
More info and photos to come soon!!!!!
